More About Kara

Have you ever noticed that certain periods of your life were markedly different than others? And that you were happier at certain times?

My first husband and I married, had two amazing jobs, purchased a beautiful home, and brought two incredible children into the world. A few years later we divorced and moved in separate directions.

As I contemplated in a deep way what I wanted life to look like with my two children, I was also thinking about how I could support people in moving through transitions in their lives. It was fascinating to me to experiment with what strategies truly help us pivot, uplevel, and re-create. Not only did I want to generate “extraordinary” results in my life, but I also wanted to help others.

From purchasing land in Costa Rica, to starting a restaurant at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, to sharing my life with a crazy Mexican man… I am always up for an adventure. Both success and sadness have threaded through the days and years. Our children have moved into high school and University, we’ve been blessed with friendships, and we’ve lost family members. I would have never guessed that I would experience so many significant challenges in the last ten years.

But as each challenge has emerged, I’ve always believed that those situations and circumstances were helping me to learn and grow in a way that I could help someone else down the road. The challenges that we all face are real. AND, we can still choose happiness with a combination of grit, grace, and gratitude.
